Don't know for sure.
I don't use any adaptive optics devices at my imaging focal lengths of 600
and 1200mm, they aren't necessary.
I don't know if the Remote Guide head can 'control' an AO-8.
The STV is a totally separate unit complete with stand alone control unit and
guide head.

I don't know if there is any 'should' in it.
While the STV is a really good guider which I used for a long time, I now use
the Remote Guide Head
with the STL-11000. Mosts times I use the Remote Guide Head with the efinder,
but sometimes I do use the internal guider of the STL-11000.
