I'm with Mike. In the real world we judge people on how they speak.
Regardless what you might think of him in general, I'm sure when you
hear my 45 year old brother-in-law say he is going to the "li-bary"
instead of the library, you will respect him just that much less.
It is the same on the web. Sure, it takes me a few moments more to
type using whole words, capitalization and punctuation. Not to mention
that I almost always read though what I wrote to remove any glaring
problems that happen when I type quickly. The trade-off is that I
present myself as an educated (hopefully) articulate person. I try to
always present myself in the best possible light. So, even though I
might wear shorts and a dirty t-shirt at home when I work. I dress
appropriately when I go out to meet with people.
I agree with Mike. I think laziness in writing to others is rude.
