Pick a path and pursue it. The market for short stories is tiny, and for
unpublished authors it is effectively zero. For that product I would visit
Writer's Market or Literary Market Place looking for "little" magazines,
often from colleges or micropublishers, that might accept your work, and try
to build up a readership and a reputation. Don't expect instant success.
If you publish your work electronically first then traditional outlets,
magazines, book publishers etc. won't be interested.
