well the basic decline was that everyone wanted more powerful toys to make themselves invincible and maybe godlike. but i prefered the more realistic approach. Everyone no matter who you are has a weakness and if it can be exploited then so be it. But if you get right down to it the root of D&D is suppose to be ROLE playing not ROLL playing and to have FUN. Who says you have to kill the dragon if you can be diplomatic to it and defeat it that way who is to say that is not a satisfatory result. But who am i to say that all your experience suppose to come from COMBAT not ROLEPLAYING. But i am just a pawn in this and who knows maybe someone could come to there senses and go back to the roots of what this game really is. Having a good time and socialize but if there must be some conflict then so be it but there are always alternatives to evrything in life.well that is my 2 cents worth for whomever wishes to have an honest opinion.

I found it interesting since I wasn't involved in RPGA back then.
