I think the market is really doing what it wants. However the market is usually being stretched to a limit. This limit is why we can use the Fib #, MACD, STOCH, Mom and all the other indicators successfully. What is the limit to the market?? This goes back to Fear, Greed, Losses and Profits. The market moves but it needs to let off steam (the steam being profits and losses) to continue. The Stoch is a steam indicator.

Are stochs really ever overbought or oversold? perhaps this is an easy answer to saying we know it is above or below the line but do not know why? or is it something else....just a probing question to figure out where folks thoughts are..p

When the price and 34/18 above take all buy signals when Stoch is over sold and tighten your stop when the Stoch gets over bought. Look into the Dochian Channel to learn to time entries and exits. Just practice practice practice.

I started going technical couple of days back since i got into FX this
year.
I need help to optimize my EMA and Stochastic indicators.
I use 2EMA,one for short period and the other a longer period.
What is the optimized setting for EMA AND STOCHASTIC MOMENTUM so that
both indicators will perfectly complement each other?
Moreover, does each currency pair have different settings as the above
is concerned?
