That depends in the model. I don't think the original poster specified what SCT he has, but Pete's concerns are important for the LX200GPS (and probably LX200R) models, where Meade used a smaller screw size for the dec clutch threads than on the classic, and the clutch screw doesn't go into the aluminum clutch disc more than a few turns. That's a recipe for stripped threads.
